AMA Motocross – Thunder Valley (Lakewood Colorado)
After catching 2 Supercross (indoor) events in the past year I thought it would be awesome to catch an outdoor event (Motocross) The closest outdoor event to home is Thunder Valley located just outside of Denver Colorado. To keep the miles off the truck and wear and tear the cost effective decision was to pick up a trusty Rav-4 from Hertz. Not the most exciting car on the road, but worthy of a simple road trip.
Short day of work and about a 6 hr drive and we were there. To get the most out of the experience we opted for the camping option. Not necessarily the cheapest option due to the $125 camping fee, but it was well worth waking up Saturday morning at the track! When we first pulled in we caught Chad Reed (22) honing his side-by-side in the sprinklers in his track inspection.
